Last week we excitedly told you about the upcoming AMGEN Tour coming to South Lake Tahoe in May this year. This spectator event features world class cyclists from around the world who have participated in events such as the Tour De France and more. If you’ve been interested in mor than just the show this race brings, then you are in luck! The AMGEN Tour is looking for volumteers to help with the two-day event.Volunteer registration is open and positions consist of a course marshal — a critical role where the individual assists race staff and local law enforcement authorities along the route. Other jobs involve media support, security, check-in, monitoring pedestrian traffic, surveying barricades, road closures, and communications — keeping spectators informed as the race progresses while collaborating with the cyclists and their teams.
The South Lake Tahoe Local Organizing Committee are seeking 300 volunteers for the first stage and 200 to 250 for the second. Four to six hours are anticipated each day.
