Looking for a new way to get involved in snow play? Check out Lake Tahoe Community College’s California Avalanche Workshop.
This workshop is an opportunity for anyone from amateurs to pros to get together and trade their knowledge of backcountry slopes, survey accidents, and learn about everything avalanche related. The one-day seminar is based off of International Snow Science Workshops, which spread avalanche info throughout the west.
The workshop takes place on Saturday, October 15th, 2016 from 9:00am-4:00pm and costs $17.50 per person. You can sign up for it here.
How to enjoy your day: grab some coffee at Free Bird, head over to LTCC, enjoy a morning of listening to speakers, take a break for lunch at Sprouts Cafe down the road, then rejoin your avalanche crowd at the college and continue to get insight and network with fellow snow-trekkers.
How to enjoy your stay: this day of learning adventures is just a short jaunt away from Craig’s Cozy Cabin and Bijou’s Best, two of our rental homes. Both homes include bikes you can borrow to ride to LTCC and the surrounding eateries.
