Good news: if you like South Lake Tahoe, brews, traditional German food, family-friendly fun, and free events then Oktoberfest is the function for you!
South Lake Tahoe is getting culturally festive as it welcomes Oktoberfest back to Camp Richardson. The event will take place on Saturday, October 1st and Sunday, October 2nd from 10:00am-5:00pm each day at the Camp Richardson Resort. The festival has activities for everyone in the family.
For the kids: check out the craft booths, face painting, bounce house, bungee jump, or pick up a pumpkin early in the fall season at the pumpkin patch.
For the grown-ups: peruse the beer & wine garden, shop for locally-made products, or get competitive and take a crack at the stein-holding competition or bratwurst-eating competition.
For anyone: the Gruber Family Band will be playing traditional polka music, and there’s bound to be a space to show off your dance moves. Take a bite out of the bountiful spread of German foods and desserts.
For the dogs: bring your pooch! This event is animal-friendly (but please make sure your dog is leashed). There is a costume contest for humans and furry companions alike. Dress yourself and your dog in your best lederhosen and you might come away with a win!
Admission to this event is free, but bring some extra bucks to participate in all the food & fun!
