Ski with a Ranger, Take a Snowmobile Tour, or Snowshoe to Explore!

Looking to try something new on your vacation this winter season? South Lake Tahoe has you covered when it comes to less-than-ordinary snow play.

Ski with a Ranger

The U.S. Forest Service Conservation Education staff and volunteers are on a mission to bring fun and knowledge together on the slopes of Heavenly. You can join them for free on their tour of the nature surrounding the City of South Lake Tahoe.

When: Every Monday and Friday from January 20th, 2017 – April 7th, 2017 at 1:00pm (tours will last about 1 hour)

Where: Heavenly Mountain Resort, meet at the top of the Heavenly gondola

Additional Details: While the tour is free, you must purchase your own lift ticket and ski/snowboard gear. You must be an intermediate or above level skier/boarder. You do not need a reservation. The tours are weather-permitting and may be cancelled due to storms. Snowmobile Tours

Gear up to explore the terrain of Tahoe with the exhilarating experience of a snowmobile tour. Lake Tahoe Adventures is a company that prides themselves in teaching beginners and providing once in a lifetime scenic excursions. They offer tours of varying lengths, for various skill levels, and in multiple regions. You can tour the South Lake Tahoe area, or take it up a notch to romp around the high Sierras in Hope Valley. Snowshoe & Ski around Camp Richardson

Bring the kids, strap on the snowshoes, and get ready to trot around camp! Camp Richardson has bike trails that turn seamlessly into snowshoeing and cross-country skiing paths once snow has coated the ground. They offer both groomed trails and skier packed trails, each of varying lengths. You can cruise around the shores of Lake Tahoe, or venture up to Fallen Leaf Lake. Visit Camp Richardson’s Mountain Sports Center for rentals of snowshoes, skis, sleds, and to purchase half or full day passes.
