7th Annual Meyers Tree Lighting Ceremony

Ignite your holiday spirit with the 7th Annual Meyers Tree Lighting presented by Meyers Community Foundation. The tree lighting ceremony is much more than the simple flip of a switch, it is an evening full of family-friendly festivities.

This Friday, December 1st from 5:00 – 7:00pm, come to the Divided Sky and Downtown Cafe parking lot in Meyers. You can enjoy hot chocolate, popcorn snacks, a Christmas-decorated firetruck, and the glorious town Christmas tree itself. Santa will be giving the reindeer and sleigh a night off as he plans to make an appearance via the CALSTAR helicopter (weather permitting, of course, we want to keep Santa safe). The event is our favorite price–FREE! For more information, check the Meyers Community Foundation website.

Turn your experience into a weekend of Meyers memories by staying in one of the RnR Vacation Rentals homes located in this welcoming community.

Polar Express Experience in Carson City

The pumpkin pies have been consumed, Turkey Trots have been run, football games have been watched and played, now it’s time to start thinking about the next holiday’s traditions.

The train conductor and staff will make the story come alive by serving you hot chocolate, punching your train tickets in a whimsical way as in the story, playing the soundtrack, dancing throughout, and you may even see characters from the book–including Santa Claus!

Where: The train ride goes from the Carson City Eastgate Depot and heads North on the Carson City-Virginia City Route. The train ride is about 60 minutes round trip.

When: The train runs on each Thursday – Sunday from November 18 – December 30, 2017. It departs at 5:00pm, 6:30pm, and 8:00pm. There will also be one Wednesday available, please check site for details.

Cost: Coach seat tickets are $46 for adults and $36 for children (ages 2-12). There are VIP tickets available for $82 for adults and $72 for children. Children 24 months and younger ride for free.
