Get your green out of the closet and work up an appetite because South Lake Tahoe has events galore surrounding everyone’s favorite Irish holiday, St. Patrick’s Day, this Saturday, March 17th.
Get into the Spirit Around Town
Kick off your Irish cheer Saturday, March 17th from 6:00 – 10:00pm with the 50th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Celebration at Lake Tahoe Harrah’s convention center. This tradition is put on by The Tahoe-Douglas Rotary each year as way of bringing the community together and getting into the spirit of the day. There will be an Irish dinner buffet, unlimited wine bar, live entertainment all evening, a virtual silent auction with phenomenal items, and a costume and beard contest with big prizes. You won’t want to miss these festivities! Cost: $100 per ticket, find them here.
Where to Find Green Beer, Corned Beef, & Shamrockin’ Good Times
McP’s TapHouse Grill: While this local favorite has delicious Irish food and beverages year round, St. Patrick’s Day is the day for McP’s to shine and highlight their classics. Stout your day our right with their Guinness on tap, then try a St. Patty Patty burger with pub fries. On March 17th they will have live music, a snowboard giveaway, drink specials, and other themed good times.
MacDuff’s Public House: While this restaurant (a personal favorite of ours!) is traditionally of Scottish influence, their Real Shepard’s Pie, Steak and Guinness Stew, and Corned Beef and Cabbage will make you think you’ve been transported to the other side of the world. Cap off your night with their mouth-watering bread pudding, and of course another Guinness, or try a specialty house cocktail.
Whiskey Dick’s: Ready for that green beer we mentioned? Head on over to Whiskey Dick’s for a pint of festively colored beer, other drink specials, and free live music by Funktronik.
Stateline Brewery: You guessed it—more green beer! $4 green pints, Irish Car Bombs 2 for 1, $5 Guinness on tap, and live music will be available from 2:00pm – closing at the Stateline Brewery in Heavenly Village. And of course, all their other delicious local brews will be available on tap as well.
Steamer’s Bar & Grill: St. Funkin Patrick’s Day Party at Steamer’s Bar & Grill is sure to be full of fun times and leprechaun tricks with $5 Jameson and Bushmills, as well as live music by the Sierra Gypsies, and corned beef tacos served all night long.
