Labor Day at the Lake: Events That The Whole Family Will Enjoy

Although the season is wrapping up, summer isn’t over quite yet! It’s almost Labor Day Weekend and there are some great events the whole family will enjoy here in South Lake Tahoe.

Why do we celebrate Labor Day? Well, Labor Day, the first Monday in September, is a creation of the labor movement and is a yearly national tribute to the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our country.

So, let Lake Tahoe celebrate you! Come rest, relax, recreate and enjoy the last days of summer. There are some awesome events in town everyone is sure to enjoy:

Midway Arts & Music Festival:

The Midway Arts & Music Festival, located in Heavenly Village at Stateline boasts three stages of live entertainment. This year will also be the first Midway Festival 5k fun run!

Labor Day Weekend Sidewalk Sale:

After you listen to a little music at the Midway Festival stroll over to The Shops at Heavenly and check out this four day sidewalk sale. With so many treasures at low prices it’ll be hard to leave empty handed!

The new season brings an end to motorized boats so get out on your paddle board or kayaks uninterrupted by large frequent wakes. Soon the temperatures will lower enough to enjoy the nearby hot springs.

What to do after labor day? Before the snow returns and the roads recessed take advantage of what feels like the City of South Lake all to yourself.
