Celebrate Easter 2017 in South Lake Tahoe

The Easter Bunny has South Lake Tahoe on its list of places to stash eggs and supply fun this year. This Sunday, April 16th you can celebrate Easter with a champagne brunch, a family-friendly egg hunt, a traditional church service, or up on the mountain for an egg-tremely good time.

Egg-Tivities:

On Saturday, April 15th the Lake Tahoe Community College is hosting their 50th annual Easter Egg Hunt on the campus. This is a free event for children ages 1-11 years old. Eggs will be strewn about the parking lot by the gym. There will also be a costume parade, bonnet contest, and visit from the Easter Bunny himself. The festivities begin at 10:30am and go until 12:00 (or until all eggs are found). All you need to bring is an Easter basket and a smile!

On Sunday, April 16th the Lake Valley Fire Protection District will be hosting its 2nd annual egg hunt at Tahoe Paradise Park. They will be hiding 10,000 eggs this year, so bring a big basket! They ask that participants arrive at 9:30am to the park. Also bring a camera to snap memories with the Easter Bunny.

Sierra-at-Tahoe is having their annual Easter Eggstravaganza atop the mountain on Sunday, April 16th at 10:30am. You can bring the family, a basket to gather your goods, and ski gear to Solstice Plaza. They will be hiding hiding eggs full of candy and toys, and the mountain will be open for skiing all day long.

Easter Brunches Around Town:

Hop on board the M.S. Dixie II this Sunday and join them for their 2 hour Easter cruise around the lake. The cruise will include a decadent buffet, a tour of Emerald Bay, historic lessons, and bound to be great company. The cruise is from 12:00pm – 2:30pm, and the cost is $85 for adults and $35 for children. Reservations are recommended.

Edgewood will be offering a brunch with bottomless champagne and mimosas, a special menu including your choice of prime rib, ham, or roast turkey breast, and a dessert station full of sweet treats. They will also be hosting an Easter Egg Hunt on the lawn for any children in attendance. Brunch begins at 8:30am, and the egg hunts will occur from 11:00am – 1:00pm.
